TRADEMARK PROTECTION

Trademark protection is obtained by registration. The trademark application has to be filed before the Algerian Institute of the Intellectual Property (INAPI).

REQUIREMENTS

1. A simple signed power of Attorney in French
2. Prints of the mark
3. Specification of goods in French Language
4. Details of home registration
5. Full details of the applicant

DURATION AND RENEWAL

Trademark is valid for a Period of ten (10) years counting from the date of filing

Renewable after every ten (10) years

Grace period of six (6) months allowed for late renewal upon payment of a fine

REQUIREMENTS FOR TRADEMARK ASSIGNMENT APPLICATIONS

Simply signed power of attorney by the assignee

A duly legalized deed of assignment by the assignor and assignee

Change of Address/Name Applications

1. A simply signed power of attorney
2. A legalized certificate of change of name or address

License Applications

1. A simply signed power of attorney by the licensee
2. A legalized license agreement executed by both parties
